Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister, Dr. Moustafa Madbouly; Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi and Director of the National Service Projects Authority for the Armed Forces, Major General Walid Abu Al-Majd.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the meeting reviewed the stock of the basic food commodities nationwide, as well as crop cultivations for the current agricultural season.

President El-Sisi was briefed on the status of the strategic stocks of all the state's basic food commodities within the framework of the advanced planning by maintaining the strategic inventory, taking into account the current global food crisis. The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade reviewed the strategic stock of wheat, sugar, maize, oil and rice, which is sufficient for 4 to 6 months, as well as the availability of fresh meat and poultry, which is sufficient for a whole year.

President El-Sisi stressed the need to maintain the continuity of the state's strategic stocks of basic food commodities and increase the added value of the stored commodities in the chain of strategic silos that have been established across the republic. Those aim to maintain the stability of the status of the state's food security, by fulfilling the needs of the citizens at the appropriate quantities.

The President also followed on the latest with regard to the current season of the cultivation of wheat 2022/2023 nationwide. He gave directives to set a supply price for wheat so as to achieve a rewarding economic return for farmers and peasants and support the increase of the quantities of wheat supply.

Major General Abu Al-Majd also offered an overview of work progress in a number of agricultural reclamation projects across the republic.

The President was also briefed on the developments of the nitrogen fertilizer complex in Ain Sukhna, which includes 6 diverse plants to cover local production and export, in cooperation with leading ThyssenKrupp AG.

The President also followed-up on the status of the school feeding project during the current academic year, in terms of the meal, the cost of its production, and ways of distributing it to the different age groups in schools. The President was also briefed on the status of the plasma collection centers project nationwide, in terms of construction and equipment, as well as adopting the highest quality standards in plasma collection.
