Following the twin attacks on the parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran and on the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini in the country's capital, Tehran, perpetrated by the so called islamic state, killing at least 12 people and injuring others, President Danny Faure has sent a message of condolence to his Iranian counterpart, President Hassan Rouhani on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles.

In his message President Faure expressed his deep sorrow for the lives lost and reaffirmedthat Seychelles stood with Iran in these dark moments. President Faure said "that the depraved ideology of hate and terror aimed at innocent people would be vanquished if the world stood united in the face ofthis threat."
