Seychelles High Commissioner Conrad Mericpresented his Credentials to His Excellency Mr Maithripala Sirisena, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at his Official Residence on Wednesday 28th June 2017 accrediting him as the Third Resident High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Seychelles to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

During the ceremony High Commissioner Mederic also met with the newly appointed Sri Lankan Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ravi Karunayake. Following the ceremony The Seychellois High Commissioner met with both the Sri Lankan President and the Foreign Minister to discuss issues of bilateral importance between Sri Lanka and Seychelles.

High Commissioner Mederic extended the greetings ofPresident Danny Faure to President Sirisena. High Commissioner Mederic alsoemphasised the need for follow up actions after President Faure's visit to Sri Lanka in March 2017. These included cooperation in fields such as agriculture, trade, legal, judicial, health, cooperation in the fight against the drug menace, fisheries and education.

The High Commissioner reiterated President Faure's invitation to President SIRISENA to visit Seychelles.
