Today, the Cabinet Secretary of Health, Dr. Nakhumicha S Wafula held a meeting with a team from the World Food Program (WFP) led by WFP Country Director Ms Lauren Landis to discuss areas of support. The meeting focused on WFP's support for drought assistance, emergency school feeding, and capacity building for healthcare workers.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Health (MOH) highlighted areas of achievement in nutrition, including the school menu program and the introduction of nutrition as an important subject in the school curriculum through a teacher's reference manual. The WFP pledged to continue supporting the government of Kenya.
"We appreciate the continued partnership with the World Food Program in improving healthcare and nutrition in Kenya," said Dr. Nakhumicha.
